Young Indian opener Prithvi Shaw has excelled since getting back into shape during the Ranji Trophy matches against Assam. The 23-year-old batsman recorded Mumbai's second-highest individual score in Ranji Trophy history.

After initially recording his first triple century in the Ranji Trophy and then exceeding the batting records of illustrious Indian batsmen like Sunil Gavaskar and Sanjay Manjrekar, he now has the second-highest total in the history of the competition.

Shaw had 379 runs off 383 balls and a strike rate of 98.96 when hitting. He made 49 fours and four sixes. Batting alongside skipper Ajinkya Rahane, Shaw guided Mumbai to a first-innings total that was close to 608.

Recently, Prithvi Shaw was having trouble finding his form. As opposed to his previous total of 160 runs over the course of seven innings, Prithvi Shaw now has 379 runs in a single inning thanks to his triple century. He undoubtedly made a case for himself with this innings, demonstrating that his ability and level of skill are too great for you to ignore.

In addition to breaking Sunil Gavaskar's 340-run Ranji Trophy record for Mumbai, the 23-year-old also outperformed VVS Laxman and Cheteshwar Pujara, two other illustrious Indian batters who were famed for their prowess in Test matches.

While Laxman scored 353 runs for Hyderabad against Karnataka in the 1999–2000 season, Pujara scored 352 runs for Saurashtra against Karnataka in the 2012–13 Ranji Trophy season.

The highest first-class cricket score by an Indian batsman still stands at 443, made by Bhausaheb Nimbalkar for Maharashtra against Kathiawar in a Ranji Trophy game, even after 68 years.

ILT20: Marcus Stoinis joins Sharjah Warriors for inaugural ILT20

Stoinis expected to join Sharjah Warriors after Melbourne Stars' last league-stage game in the BBL on January 25

Marcus Stoinis has become the latest big-ticket T20 player to join the UAE's ILT20, signing with Sharjah Warriors for the month-long tournament starting on January 13. He is the second Australian cricketer in the inaugural edition of the tournament after Chris Lynn. Who will link up with Gulf Giants after playing 11 games for Adelaide Strikers in the ongoing BBL?

Whether Stoinis' arrangement will be similar to Lynn's - split between the BBL and the ILT20 - is unclear, with Stoinis' team Melbourne Stars currently bottom of the eight-team BBL table. Stoinis is likely to join the ILT20 when the league stage of the BBL ends on January 25.

"It's a massive opportunity for me personally to notch up some crucial playtime at a tournament like this in the UAE ahead of a busy year that's going to be full of cricket," Stoinis said in a statement. "These are extremely exciting times for international franchise cricket and I am glad to be playing a part of a team like Sharjah Warriors in the league's history-making inaugural edition."

At Warriors, Stoinis will join a number of top T20 players, like Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes, Mohammad Nabi, Dawid Malan, Evin Lewis and Rahmanullah Gurbaz.

When will ILT20 will take place?

The International League T20 (ILT20) is a 20-over cricket tournament to be played in the United Arab Emirates. Mission 2024: Indian T20 Team Under New Skipper Hardik Pandya Prepares Without 'Big Three'

The followers of Indian cricket got more than a glimpse of Hardik's vision for the team when led the team to victory in the rain-hit T20 series in New Zealand.

With the three-match series against Sri Lanka starting here on Tuesday. Hardik Pandya will be expected to start off his full-time T20 captaincy tenure on a daring note. As the Indian T20 side gets ready to begin life without Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and KL Rahul. When Hardik guided the Indian cricket team to victory in the rain-delayed T20 series in New Zealand. Indian cricket fans got more than just a glimpse of his plans for the squad. The Indian team does not prioritize the shortest format during an ODI World Cup year. But the series will allow Hardik to begin making preparations for the future. Notably the T20 World Cup in 2024.

India's famed top three Rohit, Virat Kohli, and Rahul are not part of the squad and irrespective of their T20 future. The team must prepare for life without them.

The problem with the current Indian T20 team in the recent past has been distinct lack of intent and ability to play the fearless cricket.

The Combinations in the T20:

Rishabh Pant, who suffered a horrific car crash last week, opened for the team in New Zealand alongside Ishan Kishan. Pant was anyway not picked for the Sri Lanka series. Making Kishan and Ruturaj Gaikwad opening combination most likely for the first T20 at the high-scoring Wankhede Stadium.

Both Kishan and Gaikwad have been bonafide IPL stars for a past few years and this is their real chance to show their wares without worrying about their place in the side.

With next T20 World Cup at least 18 months away, the duo is expected to get a fair run although the number of T20 Internationals this year is less than 15 with ODI gaining more precedence.

Shubman Gill, who is yet to make his T20 debut, is another opening option for Hardik. At number three, the skipper will rely on the brilliance of world's No. 1 batter Suryakumar Yadav. With Hardik keen to have six bowling options in the playing 11. Deepak Hooda could be a likely starter for Tuesday's game.

For the one opening in the middle order, the management will have to decide between Sanju Samson and uncapped Rahul Tripathi. Tripathi has been warming the bench for some time, and he may continue doing so against Sri Lanka. But Samson should start because of his experience.

Although Mukesh Kumar and uncapped Shivam Mavi were named in the squad, Arshdeep Singh, Harshal Patel, and Umran Malik are more likely to make up the pace bowling three.

India has the option of including Washington Sundar and Axar Patel. Which would increase the number of all-rounders on the roster. Yuzvendra Chahal, a skilled spinner, is anticipated to take the field in game one of the series.

Reigning Asia Cup champions Sri Lanka will be no pushovers for India even in their own conditions.

Sri Lanka have rewarded the star performers of the Lanka Premier League Avishka Fernando, Chamika Karunaratne and Sadeera Samarawickrama by including them in the team for the India series.

Both Fernando and Karunaratne have made a comeback and will be looking to make an impactful contribution.

Bhanuka Rajapaksa will be their key batter in the middle-order.

India:Hardik Pandya (captain), Ishan Kishan (wk), Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav (VC), Deepak Hooda. Rahul Tripathi. Sanju Samson, Washington Sundar, Yuzvendra Chahal. Axar Patel, Arshdeep Singh, Harshal Patel, Umran Malik, Shivam Mavi, Mukesh Kumar.

Sri Lanka:Dasun Shanaka (C), Pathum Nissanka, Avishka Fernando, Sadeera Samarawickrama. Kusal Mendis (VC for ODIs), Bhanuka Rajapaksa (only for T20Is), Charith Asalanka, Dhananjaya de Silva. Wanindu Hasaranga (VC for T20Is), Ashen Bandara, Maheesh Theekshana, Jeffrey Vandersay (only for ODIs). Chamika Karunaratne, Dilshan Madushanka, Kasun Rajitha. Nuwanidu Fernando (only for ODIs), Dunith Wellalage, Pramod Madushan, Lahiru Kumara, Nuwan Thushara (only for T20Is).

Ravichandran Ashwin Is a Great Bowling All Rounder

R Ashwin's all-round record is expected to hit the headlines once again in February 2023, if he takes his 450th Test wicket against the touring Australian team

With a flurry of boundaries against Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Ravichandran Ashwin put the finishing touches on Bangladesh's tense chase, giving cricket-crazy India the ideal Christmas present. At 74/7, needing to reach a small goal of 145, India was on the verge of an embarrassing loss before Ashwin and Shreyas Iyer helped them win in Mirpur.

An important milestone that Ashwin reached in the first innings of the Mirpur Test was eclipsed by his remarkable second inning performance. In the third session of day two, Ashwin hit Bangladesh skipper Shakib al Hasan for a four, marking the completion of 3,000 Test runs.

After Dev, Ashwin was the only other Indian to score 3,000 runs and take 400 wickets in a single Test. Only four other cricketers have achieved this accomplishment to date: Sir Richard Hadlee, the late Shane Warne, Shaun Pollock, and Stuart Broad.

Ravichandran Ashwin's batting show was pivotal in India beating Bangladesh in the 2nd Test.

When he capped off the tense chase against Bangladesh in style by hitting a barrage of boundaries against Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Ravichandran Ashwin handed cricket-crazy India the ideal Christmas present. At 74/7, needing to reach a small goal of 145, India was on the verge of an embarrassing loss before Ashwin and Shreyas Iyer helped them win in Mirpur.

In addition, Ashwin (88 Tests) is the second-fastest to the milestone behind Hadlee (83 Tests), who did so. When he took his 400th wicket in his 115th Test, his fellow countryman Dev accomplished the feat.

If Ashwin captures his 450th Test wicket against the visiting Australian squad in February 2023, his all-round record is predicted to make headlines once more. He will then join Warne and Broad in having taken 450 Test wickets and scored 3,000 runs. He will, however, be unmatched as a modern all-rounder.

Ashwin's stats

The statistical similarities between Ashwin and Hadlee are quite striking. Like Hadlee, Ashwin is considered a ‘bowling all-rounder'. While Hadlee had 431 wickets in 86 Tests, Ashwin had 442 in the same number of matches. Both players also have a lot of fifers and 10-fours against their names – Hadlee's 36 fifers and nine 10-fos as against Ashwin's 30 fifers and seven 10-wicket hauls. Ashwin has scored 3,043 runs at an average of 27.41, while Hadlee ended his career with 3,124 runs at an average of 27.17.

The off-spinner can surpass Muttiah Muralitharan in February 2023 to rank second among bowlers with 450 wickets most quickly. The other two bowlers in the "450 wicket-3,000 run club," Warne and Broad, are not even close. Additionally, for them to be considered all-rounders, their batting averages must be much below 20.

Despite a considerable batting dip since 2017, Ashwin is predicted to be the first to join the "450 wicket-3,000 run club" quickly. The off-spinner played 71 innings while completing 2,000 Test runs, faster than Hadlee, Khan, and Pollock but five innings slower than Botham and one inning longer than Dev. Ashwin might have easily surpassed Hadlee's all-round record had he kept up or improved his batting statistics after reaching this milestone.

However, cricket, particularly Test cricket, is not just about flashy numbers and individual accomplishments. The law of averages can be brutal for many cricketers whose contributions go much beyond simple numbers and stats can be deceiving. Technique, Temperament, and Tenacity, or the Three Ts, are essential for success in cricket. Ashwin demonstrates that he possesses all three on a regular basis.

Ishan Kishan the pocket Dynamo from Bihar

At a young age registers his name in history books

Ishan Kishan becomes the fourth Indian player to score a double ton after Rohit Sharma, Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar.

Ishan Kishan made history on December 10 against Bangladesh in Chittagong by being the fourth Indian and ninth batter to register a double century in one-day international cricket.

Ishan Kishan and Virat Kohli put together a 290-run stand to help India win the third one-day international against Bangladesh after losing the first two matches. Bangladesh gave India the bat, but India quickly lost Shikhar Dhawan (3). Ishan Kishan and Virat Kohli then performed.

Early Life of Ishan Kishan

In the 2016–17 Ranji Trophy match against Delhi on November 6, Kishan scored 273 runs, breaking the previous mark for a Jharkhand player. In the 2017–18 Ranji Trophy (484 runs in six matches) and the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy (405 runs in nine matches), he led Jharkhand in runs scored.

Kishan made 173 runs against Madhya Pradesh in February 2021 on the first day of the 2020–21 Vijay Hazare Trophy, contributing to a record score of 422.

Previous Fastest Double Century

Chris Gayle's 138-ball double against Zimbabwe in the 2015 World Cup was the previous record for men's ODIs, and Amelia Kerr's 134-ball effort against Ireland in 2018 was the fastest double across all genders in ODIs.

As of right now, Kishan is the only hitter to have scored a double-century in an ODI match against Bangladesh. Coventry's 194 against Bangladesh was the previous record score. Now Ishan holds this record with 210 runs.

Ishan Kishan's IPL Career

In the 2016 IPL auction, Gujarat Lions purchased Kishan. The Mumbai Indians purchased him in the 2018 auction. With 516 runs from 14 games in the 2020 season, he led Mumbai in run scoring and took home the trophy for the season with the most sixes hit.

For 15.25 crore (US$1.9 million), Mumbai purchased Kishan once more in preparation for the 2022 IPL, making him the second-most expensive Indian player at the auction behind Yuvraj Singh.

SA20 2023: Quinton De Kock Named Durban Super Giants' Captain for SA20

Durban Super Giants Captain for SA20

Durban Super Giants Captain: For the first season of the SA20 league, Quinton de Kock will lead the Durban Super Giants. He will be the first person to start prep for the league.

De Kock's Performance Over the Years

De Kock, 29, is a significant player in South Africa. In T20 cricket, his left-handedness and aggressiveness at the top of the order make him a sought-after player. De Kock has led the national team before in addition to his 8497 runs at an average of 33 and a strike rate of 138. Eight ODIs, 11 T20Is, and four Tests have all seen him captain them. The IPL franchise with the same owners as this Durban team, the Lucknow Super Giants, also has De Kock on its roster.

De Kock ended his Test career in December 2021, stating how challenging it was to play in all three forms.

De Kock in IPL

Quinton De Kock scored 508 runs at a strike rate of almost 150 in the 2022 IPL, and he followed that up with 221 runs at a strike rate of nearly 130 in the CPL. But his performance in the Hundred in England suffered, and his most recent task—the men's T20 World Cup—also didn't go as planned. South Africa was out of the tournament after losing to the Netherlands in the tournament's group stage.

De Kock will be free to plan his SA20 campaign while the Test team get ready for a December visit of Australia. To help him lead the squad forward in Durban, he will have Keshav Maharaj, Jason Holder, and head coach Lance Klusener. On January 11, they play the Johannesburg Super Kings, the team that represents de Kock's hometown, to open their campaign.

What is SA20?

SA20 is a hot new T20 cricket league in South Africa. The League, which debuts on January 10th 2023, is anticipated to excite both domestic and foreign cricket fans as well as draw in new audiences of all ages.

SA20 is for ardent cricket fans, partygoers, and families. It consists of 4 weeks, 33 matches, 6 international franchises, and 102 world-class players (local and international).

Six privately owned clubs compete in the League. Before the semifinals and championship game, they will face off against one another twice (at home and away). 33 games will be played in all, at some of South Africa's best venues. The venues include Durban's Super Giants' Kingsmead, Joburg Super Kings' Wanderers, MI Cape Town's Newlands. Paarl Royals' Boland Park, Pretoria Capitals' Centurion, and Sunrisers Eastern Cape's St. George's Park.

Liam Livingstone Will England all-rounder Liam Livingstone play for Melbourne Renegades in Big Bash League

The Big Bash League 2022-23 is set to start from 13 December, 2022, when Sydney Thunder will take on Melbourne Stars in the opening game of the tournament. The first-ever international player’s draft took place ahead of this season, and Liam Livingstone was the first pick in that draft of the BBL 2022.

Every team took three players from the draft, and there will be a lot of replacements as well as many of the players will move to other leagues around the world. Hobart Hurricanes have signed Zak Crawley as a replacement for the Shadab Khan, Whereas Laurie Evan’s contract has been terminated.

Liam Livingstone

Melbourne Renegades got the first chance to pick in the draft and they picked Livingstone. It was not a surprise call-up as living stone has been a part of Perth Scorchers in the past, and he has been an outstanding player all together with bat and ball both.

Liam Living Stone Big Bash League

Melbourne Renegades have dealt a major blow ahead of the BBL as their first draft pick Liam Livingstone has pulled out of the upcoming BBL season. Renegades got the first choice to pick the players in the platinum category, and they went on to choose the English all-rounder.

Livingstone was set to play the initial 8 games for the Renegades before joining MI Cape Town in SA 20 League in South Africa. However, he got a surprise selection in England’s test team for the Pakistan tour. Renegades signed Andre Russell as Livingstone’s replacement for the initial 4 matches, but now Livingstone has pulled out completely.

James Rosengarten, Melbourne Renegades General Manager has expressed his disappointment in Livingstone pulling out of the tournament. He said that they picked Livingstone as the number one pick for a specific reason, but his schedule changed because of international commitments.

“We’re obviously disappointed that we won’t have Liam as part of our team this summer, but we understand his decision,” James Rosengarten said.

“Liam is a fantastic cricketer and there’s a reason we used our first pick in the draft to select him.

“Since then, his schedule has changed with added international duties, and we wish him the best as he pushes for a Test debut.”

It is confirmed that Andre Russell will stay for four matches only, so the Renegades will now look at signing a new replacement player for Livingstone.

Who is the 2nd God of Cricket? | Why is Sachin Called God of Cricket

New God of Cricket in India

We all knew that Sachin Tendulkar is the God of Cricket in India. But, have you ever wondered is someone next to him, this article is all about the most likely to replace Sachin for the title "God of Cricket"

To start with it will be very difficult for any cricketer to even come closer to what Sachin Tendulkar has achieved in his cricketing career. 24 years, 100 centuries, and thousands of runs Sachin Tendulkar's legacy look untouchable.

Others might come closer to his stature but they won't have the grand effect Tendulkar has had in the world of sports. Millions of dreams were depended on Tendulkar whenever he was on screen. Viewers used to off their TV whenever Sachin got out.

No other player is going to have this kind of impact in Cricket, at least for years to come.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli can be counted as his heir. At one time, pundits were tipping Kohli to break Sachin's record of 100 centuries. However, that looks like a long shot now as 32-year-old Virat Kohli has not scored a century in two years now.

Virat Kohli has a total of 70 centuries to his name. He still has plenty of cricketing years left to his name. Only the time shall tell if he manages to touch his idol Tendulkar at the pinnacle of greatness.
